For 2018 we are organising a trip to Ad and Arnie’s 3Bs Biking for Oxford TRF. The plan is to set off from Portsmouth on Friday 25th May after work, take the overnight ferry to Le Havre and arrive at the 3Bs near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche (south of Limoges) on Saturday 26th May.
This gives us six days of riding, which can be spent on the 3Bs’ trials course, on the local trails, the stunning roads in the Haute Vienne and Dordogne regions or on excursions in Ad and Arnie’s minibus to places like Pompadour, Sarlat-la-Canéda or Rocamadour.
We will then head back to the UK to arrive Saturday 2nd June.
As Oxford TRF members, we get a considerable discount on everything: ferry, accommodation, meals, and Ad and Arnie will even scrap their usual tour guide fees for us!
Our rough estimate for three people sharing one van and bringing their own bikes would be £450 for the week.
This is per person and includes ferry, your bed in either the bunk room or in one of the twins, breakfast and evening meals with drinks. You then have to add fuel costs for van and bike, excursions and other personal expenses.
There are plenty of other options:
- You can ride down on your road bike and explore the superb tarmac of the area.
- You can fly to Limoges, get picked up and hire one of Ad and Arnie’s AJPs (at €100 per day instead of the normal €120).
- You can even come without any biking ambitions at all, as there is plenty of hiking and lots of culture and history to explore.
